thank you. no, thank you! (part 2)

thank you. no, thank you! (part 1)

some of that rad "alligator skin" textured paper for envelopes, and some lovely japanese paper for liners.

all growed up: my brother's wedding

aren't we cute? i think this is from 1979.
flash forward, er um, back? to 2004, when i was a redhead.

i was the "best man" in my brother's wedding.

i shouldn't have to tell you this was a big deal for me, but i just did.

my sister-in-law enlisted me to help with the invites, programs, table names, CD favors, and the drink menu.

my family will never let me live down how tipsy i got at the reception.
but...nobody will ever forget my "best-'best-man'-ever" toast (or the inside-joke-plastic cups)!
not a dry eye in the room.

cheers!

(digital mock-ups, plus a couple real life photos)

going o.g.

gone plum paisley

these cards were not made with anyone in mind.
not my normal m.o., but i was experimenting with metallic embossing powder and rhinestones.

they came out fine enough. i just don't know who to give them to.

the mullet of personalized stationery: in a good way

alexis is my friend.
she's a classy broad with a wicked sense of humor and a good grasp on reality.
she likes madmen, bloody marys, and salad bowls with fork hands.
she humors my lady gaga obsession & my life is better with her in it.

i wanted her cards to combine her professional and playful sides:
pinstripe liners and closure stickers, vertically set in an unpretentious font.

"business up front, party in the back." oh yeah.

i'm such a knerd!

these are gift tags i created for scarves i knitted for friends.
i knit. no purling or other fancy-schmancy stitches.
this is why i only make scarves.

what i lack in yarn skills, i try to make up for in creative gifting, hence the washing instructions.

corporate-y stuff part 1

these are some things i designed at my j-o-b.

save the date cards, invites, banners/signs, trade show booth, menus, presentations, name tags, etc.

long overdue valentines

this was the maiden voyage of my heat embosser, which i adore!
the white embossed kisses surrounding the pink one didn't translate in the photo, but they looked kick-ass in person, if i say so myself.

{who's got two thumbs and occasionally loves the subtlety of monochromatic-ness? this girl.}
s.w.a.k.
